Andy finds out that a pedophile named Leonard Patz may have killed Ben. Laurie begins to think that Jacob is really Benās killer. Patz commits suicide and leaves a note confessing to killing Ben. Jacob is set free. Billy confesses to Andy that he hired a hitman to force Patz to confess then kill him. Andy decides not to tell Laurie and Jacob. The family go to Mexico for a vacation. Jacob meets a 16 year old girl called Hope. At a party on New Yearās Eve, Hope goes missing and Jacob leaves his shirt at the beach. The police suspect Jacob of killing her. Andy tells Laurie the truth about Patzās death. Hope is found safe and Jacob had nothing to do with her disappearance. The family goes home immediately. While driving Jacob to get his haircut, Laurie asks him if he killed Ben. Jacob keeps declining and Laurie believes he did kill Ben so she crashes the car deliberately. Laurie is badly injured and Jacob is in a coma. Andy goes to a trial and says that Laurie didnāt deliberately crash the car. At the end Andy is alone at his home.
During this whole show, we didnāt even get close to finding out who killed Ben. Jacob, Patz, Derek, Sarah, or even Billyās henchman couldāve done it. However, I have figured out the real killer of Ben Rifkin, at it is none other than: Laurie!
What Actually Happened: Laurie goes for her morning run and sees Ben. She has overheard Jacob talking about being bullied by Ben. She confronts him about bullying her son but Ben doesnāt care. Jacob comes and sees what is happening. Laurie tells Ben not to mess with her, Ben laughs and twists her arm. Laurie tells him to let go but he doesnāt. Laurie gets mad and kills him. The body rolls down the hill and she goes to see if he is dead. She cleans the knife in the water and goes home. Jacob goes to see if he is dead but then he leaves the body and goes to school. A few days later Jacob writes a story about what happened between Laurie and Ben, calling Ben āBrentā and changing Laurie to a boy called āJasonā. When Jacob becomes a murder suspect, Laurie feels guilty that her son is being accused of the murder she committed. In the car while they wait for Andy and their lawyer, Laurie decides to tell Jacob the truth, unaware he saw the whole thing. She decides to go to Billy saying she did it and needs him to help her defend Jacob and they made a plan: If Jacob is found guilty, they get someone to kill and frame Patz. Laurie already knows Patz is a suspect, and to make it seem even more believable, she finds the kid Andy talked to before, who then confesses to having a deal with Patz. She offers to pay him even more money if he calls Andy and tells him about this without saying. anything about her. He hesitates for a few days then accepts the offer. When Laurie sees the henchmanās car. She freaks out because she is becoming more and more paranoid that someone will find out she killed Ben. During the trial, she is shocked to hear the story because she didnāt know about Jacob seeing her there. After that, all evidence already points towards Jacob so she decides to convince Andy that he is the murderer, since she already has a plan to make sure heās found innocent. The next day, she realises that Billy followed their plan earlier than usual and thanks the henchman. When she realises Andy knows about Patzās murder she blames Jacob because nobody but Andy knows about Patz, so Jacob is anyways safe. When Hope disappears she starts to be reminded of killing Ben and she feels so scared and guilty, that when Hope comes back all she wants to do is go home. After seeing Mrs Rifkin, she feels so upset she wants Jacob to tell Andy he did it so she can relax. During the car ride, she tries to make him say it, but now she decides to kill herself and Jacob so her crime will be hidden forever.
Thank you for reading this. I donāt think Jacob did it because usually someone would confess when their life was on the line and he kept saying it wasnāt him. Anyways, Bye!
